Propblem with spam

Greeting,
i installed Geeklog a while ago but now i am having spam problems. can anybody suggest what to do. The link below shows the spam on the site

Install the update for the trackback handling. Maybe try the SLV modules. Feed the usual spammy keywords into Spam-X's Personal Blacklist. Use Spam-X's Mass Delete options to get rid of the existing spam.

thanks for the advice i will try and sort it out that way. i seached the forum but can't find the following.

Can i disable the "post a comment" to the public and allow registered users to only make comments
