After upgrading from 1.3.7, all the comments on the site have backslashes in front of the single quotes. When I compare the two versions of the database, the comment itself is identical -- a typical comment's database entry would look like:

Text Formatted Code
Blah blah something\'s blah blah

When this displays on my 1.3.7 system, it comes up fine. Under 1.4.0sr3, it shows the backslash.

I'm a bit hesitant to do a mass replace on the entire comment structure, as I'm afraid I may break some code snippets that need backslashes in code snippets.

Anyone have any idea as to why it displays differently on the two Geeklog versions, and what the simplest fix may be?

That's probably a result of the comment changes back in 1.3.10. I'd say it should be safe to convert all comments that were entered before the upgrade. You may want to check with Vinny to be on the safe side ...

bye, Dirk
