I still can´t log in with OPERA, will probably be a cookie issue.
It didn´t work with MIE until I specified IP number in
config.php
$_CONF['cookiedomain'] = '10.0.0.xxx';
(as I have a LAN)
I am still having problems though, I cannot change theme,
will keep reading the FAQ

I couldn't log-in to my new install. I thought it was a cookie or a whitespace problem.
It turned out to be that I was using PHP 5 and needed to do:
Make sure you have register_long_arrays = On in your php.ini.
For compatibility with old versions of PHP 4, Geeklog relies on the "old-style" input arrays, $HTTP_POST_VARS and $HTTP_GET_VARS.
Don't forget to switch register_global = On
while you are in that file.
That solved the "can't login" problem I was having.

Yup, that's worked for me! At last, after days of trawling for help on this problem, I can finally login as admin
With me, the single line that fixed it was to set:
register_long_arrays = On
in php.ini. I'm using PHP 5. Thanks webb_k - much obliged

Quote by dick: Ive notice that I have to use my 24.XXX.XXX.XXX ip to login, and cannot use my domain name. I can type my domain name into the adrress bar, see my site as anon user. Then when i go to login it simply refreshes. If I go to my site via the numerical IP, everyting works fine.
I am thinking it may have something to do with Gallery. I recall it saying you had to use the same url to admin it every time. Since the new Gallery can be embedded, I think that may be it, but havnt had time or desire to look into it as of yet.
You all have the embedded gallery installed too?
*edit* logging in works fine with both IPs via Mozilla. So much for my previous idea.

edit your php.ini file (if you're using php 5) and change "register_long_arrays" to "on"
