Comment Moderation/Rating System?

One key feature that seems to seperate GeekLog from the older (more-developed, whatever) weblog systems is a comment moderation/rating system (where users can rate each others' comments), such as those used by SlashDot and Kuro5Hin. Why haven't we seen such a feature on GeekLog yet? Will we ever have one?

These features will be present in some for in Geeklog 2 but not the 1.3.x tree. Moderation I dont' mind, ratings, though bring many issues to the table: a) how do you do it so it doesn't tax the database, b) how do you do it so ratings aren't tampered with? References to projects that address these specifc implementation details would be appreciated.---The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.
