I'm working on a "private" website for a group of friends, and one feature we want is a shared calendar. Now, I don't mind if people outside of the "friends" group browse the site, but I don't want the calendar visible to anyone else. I've installed the glCalendar plugin, disabled the built-in calendar, but I can't seem to find a way to hide the calendar from anyone but those in the "friends" group.
I have found a reference to SEC_hasRights('glcalendar.view') in geeklog/plugins/glcalendar/functions.inc, but it's commented out. I can't find this permission anywhere else in the fileset. What would it take to activate this so I can limit the calendar as my group wants it?

I don't think anyone is aware of a glCalendar plugin, though I really would like it if such a thing existed. I have been wanting the calendar turned into a plugin for several months now, and I don't think I can do it myself.

Dear racooper
I am also waiting for someone like you who can improved on the already useful Calendar service. Like you I would like to create groups to the calendar so that different groups/teams can use the calendar for different purposes.
I hope that you succeed in your endeavour and that we can benefit from it. Unfortunately, I cannot be of help. I just do not know how to code. Please don't lose heart, Geeklog is successful only because of perople like you.
