Hi everyone
Seeking some general advice before I start down the wrong path spending hours of time that I don't need to.
I'm new to geeklog, and PHP, I guess you could say that I have been thrown in the deep end for lack of a better phrase, we have an active website, and forum, website is in html, and a linked SMF Forum. All is working fine as is but, there is always a but...
Our webmaster (My twin bro) is currently in hospital fighting cancer and we are looking at changing our website over to geeklog and intergrating the forum. I'm not a web guru and don't claim to be, I'm in advertising.
The website I can cut and past over to topics and blocks on to geeklog, I have beeen playing around for a few ours now and seems easy enough, the problem is incorporating our SMF Forum into the geeklog.
1. Is there a way to wrap our SMF forum into geeklog as is?
We don't want members to be able to comment or post on geeklog, just the forum.
2. Or do I need to convert our data over to either PHPBB, or the geeklog forum plugin?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

There is no SMF integration for Geeklog (that I am aware of). You could of course simply wrap SMF in an IFRAME within Geeklog, but that would only make it appear integrated and people would still have to register with both systems.
I see there's a converter from SMF to phpBB, so that sounds like one way to go (using the phpBBBridge). I don't think there's a converter from SMF to Geeklog's forum plugin.
bye, Dirk
