Yes it is...
in storytext.thtml and featuredstorytext.thtm look for
{story_date}
{lang_contributed_by} {start_contributedby_anchortag}{contributedby_user}{end_contributedby_anchortag}
{lang_views}: {story_hits}
you may delete the ones you don't like (or comment them out if you decide you want them back)
