Remove {readmore_link} from the story templates and replace it with something else (see here for a list of variables available in the story template files).

bye, Dirk

Can someone help me choose a another variable, something else, as Dirk says? I'd like to have readmore link only, but no number of words shown. I want to know, how to remove that info about the words, but keep the readmore link. How do i do that? Is there a way to code readmore link to remove number of words? where is that file an line?

try this:

{start_readmore_anchortag}{lang_readmore}{end_readmore_anchortag}

that will give you the read more link without the word count.

the relevant files you will edit are storytext.thtml, featuredstorytext.thtml, and archivestorytext.thtml. Just replace the default {readmore_link} with the above variables.
