Story text formating

Is there any easier way to add text formating to new stories when posting OTHER than traditional HTML?
I know HTML...thats not the problem. I just wish there were a quicker way to make something bold than having to manually type in the HTML tags.
In Blogger, you can highlight and click bold.
Even in these forums, you can just click bold and it will write it.
Is there any plugin or something that can be added to get this feature?
Thanks!

Thanks for that link.....BUT.....
Is there a WYSIWYG code like that which also works for Mac?
It got it to work on my Windows machine...but not the Mac. As I noticed, it was not Mac compatible.
