Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/peer/public_html/db/lib-common.php on line 5253

what do I do now?

what version of gl are you running? did you by chance edit this file at all? When do you get the error? Has your installation ever worked? etc...

I got another warning before than I thought I had to change something and changed lib-common.php.
At the top of the file there is this
my site worked before, but i was so stupid to change something. can I fix it or do I start all over again?

can you change your lib file back? to get the original error.

Option #1: replace your lib-common.php ensuring the proper path to config.php is retained early in that file.

Option #2: compare your edited version to a clean copy using some program that will highlight differences and then go from there. a good program for this is 'beyond compare' for windows. if you're on *nix, that function is built in AFAIK.
