Does the link for site index need to be on the very first page of the website for best results with spiders... I have a flash page that leads into my geeklog site... should the index be on that intro page?

Since most search engines won't be able to read your Flash intro, this is a good way of not being picked up by search engines ...
Personally, I think submission services are a waste of money, at least for personal and small commercial sites. Make sure people are linking to your site. Specifically, get a few sites with a high Google ranking to link to your site, and it will be picked up by the search engines within a short time.
And make sure your site is up before you post a link to it anywhere - the link in your post isn't working ...
bye, Dirk
