I'm just now starting to work with GeekLog. I've got it set up on my notebook, running Apache and MySQL. It seems to be working fine, except for the "Are You Secure" block. It isn't displaying, even though it is enabled. I am logged in as Admin (root). I'm using the Smooth Blue theme.
Any ideas?

That's what I thought. In fact, I think I remember it being displayed at one point, because I wondered what it did (I hadn't read about it, yet). Now that I know what it does, it isn't displaying, even though I'm logged in as Admin and I'm on the first page. I'll keep messing around with it - maybe it will come back. :-)

I want to make sure that I've got Geeklog set up correctly, with respect to the various directories/subdirectories.
When I set up the directory structure, I copied all of the files that were in the public_html directory into a subdirectory called 'hrc', under the htdocs subdirectory. That way, to access Geeklog on my notebook, I got to 'localhost/hrc'. Then, I put all of the other files and directories into a subdirectory called hrc_private, which is under the 'main' c:apache2 directory.
So, I have c:/apache2/hrc_private, under which all of the 'private' files/directories are located for Geeklog (including the /system/lib-custom.php). Then, all of the 'public' files/directories are at c:/apache2/hrc/.
So far, I think everything works, except for the "Are You Secure" Block. I'm wondering if I've got a problem due to the way I set the directories up.

So, in other words, you've separated the public_html directory from the rest? That's fine, as long as you adjust your path settings ($_CONF['path'] and $_CONF['path_html']) accordingly. Which I assume you did, or you wouldn't be able to do much ...

Actually, the only times I can see the "Are you secure?" block were when I manually changed it into a normal block (i.e. NOT "homepage").
After seeing it, I always return it to the original setting.
I gave up on watching it without that procedure...
