When changing the value of rdf_limit from an integer to 24h all I get is an error with the class files.

for example:

Parse error: parse error in /www/admin/html/config.php on line 384

which is set to:

$_CONF['rdf_limit'] = 24h;

Warning: main(classes/timer.class.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/admin/html/public_html/lib-common.php on line 105

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'classes/timer.class.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /www/admin/html/public_html/lib-common.php on line 105

These two entries have not been altered.

Any pointers

You need to enclose it in quotes:

$_CONF['rdf_limit'] = '24h';
