I have a site where I've included thumbnail images as a link to a related site. When you view the article, the What's Related block includes [image1_right] as a related link.

What would be necessary in order to have the What's Related box say something other than [image1_right] for the URL?

You can see what I'm talking about here

I know exactly what you're talking about. I think a nice clean solution would be something like being able to add Alt text to an image, something like [image1_right_This is alt text] or however it could be done. Then, that alt text could be the link! No idea HOW to implement that...but I'd been thinking it too!

Currently, the code that parses the story for related links filters out links that only contain an image, i.e. something like <a href=""><img src=""></a> would not show up in What's Related. It doesn't work like this here since the [image] pseudo-tags are replaced after the story has been parsed for related links. So one solution would be to simply move the parser below the code that replaces [image] with <img>. The nicer solution, though, would be if we could have an alt text for the image and use that for the related link (and for the alt attribute of the image). Just need to think of an extended syntax for [image] so that it can include an alt text ... bye, Dirk
