Sometimes when I visit your homepage, the XSilver theme fills the entire screen. But, then when I click a link, it reverts back to the smaller size. Is it possible to keep it full screen all the time?

This is because sometimes people post long URLs or path names which break (or rather stretch) the layout. I'm not too happy with this either, but there is no easy way around it ...
