register_globals

ok, i've heard that if you turn register_globals on your site is vulnerable to being attacked because it creates a security risk. i currently have mine off, and i cannot login to the admin account using the default username and password, as well as some other things. is this being cause by the fact that i don't have register_globals on? and my last question. is there anyway to make it so you don't have to turn it on?

Andy has already covered the register_globals. Another FAQ entry that you may want to read is I can't log in.

Hmmm ...
* bad mode on *
Why is it if two wise people point you to the good directions, you don´t bother too read it. it´s ALL there ...
Maybe hitting reply takes less as reading what wise people put in the FAQ.
* bad mode off *
* nice mode on *
In case you want to save your marriage or your girlfriend, just have a look at this topic
It´s only a few hours old and it points to the exact same FAQ but using your .htaccess file ....
so that should surely answer your last question
