Addthis

I want to use Addthis to place social media buttons on my pages, but haven't had any luck in getting the code to work in the pages I've tried. Does anyone know where I should add the javascript in the code to get the desired result?
Thanks,
Tom

Depends where you want to place it. Most people tend to put the social buttons some where in the header so the button html code would go in the header.html file. The javascript could then either go in the header or footer.

My question is, which file should I place the code in so that people can like or share any story.

Just for stories you would probably want to modify just the storytext.thtml template file for the theme you are using. For example the denim theme the file would be found under /public_html/layout/denim/

I ended up adding the first code to footer.thtml and the second to article.thtml. Worked like a charm. Thanks.
