If you wish to use Denim theme as a default theme for your own theme then all
you need to do is create your own theme directory and copy the file
functions.php to your new theme along with the images and
jquery_ui directories. Plus any theme files and css files you wish to change.

In functions.php you will need to change any function name to represent your
own theme. (theme_config_denim -> theme_config_your_theme_name). You
would also need to add to the array in the fuction theme_config_your_theme_name
'theme_default' => 'denim'
