Hello:
GL 1.7.0 (finally) Prof. theme.
Site Name will not update in Admin Area - Configuration.
select * from gl_conf_values where name ="site_name"
-> ;
+-----------+-----------------+------+------------+---------------+----------+----------------+------------+----------+
| name | value | type | group_name | default_value | subgroup | selectionArray | sort_order | fieldset |
+-----------+-----------------+------+------------+---------------+----------+----------------+------------+----------+
| site_name | s:9:"D?rkBlog"; | text | Core | s:0:""; | 0 | -1 | 60 | 0 |
That WAS an umlaut'd o before the upgrade to 1.7.0
I FEEks!
s9: "DorkBlog" but that's only s8.
Thanks!

If you can edit the database field, change the 9 to an 8.
This is a bug in the configuration code. It doesn't handle characters above normal ASCII that aren't encoded in the same way as the website. Are you using UTF-8 or some other encoding?

jmucchiello:
Thanks. I did change s:9:"D?rkBlog" to s:8:"DorkBlog"
I have no idea what UTF encoding I am set for.
I only remembered how to fix it from a previous post by me on this very subject.
On another note:
I still wish GL (native) had code and /code markups. (it does but the ouput is different than say,
vBulletin's *cough*cough use of it)
It formats the text instead of placing it in a horizontal scrollable box.
There, I said it. I feel better now! Maybe someday...
Peace!
