Twitter plugin use plugin_itemsaved function to post a story to your twitter account. I wonder if the plugin could make the difference (and how?) between new story and edited story?

Hi Ben,
Since plugin_itemsaved_*** is called EACH TIME an article is saved, it is impossible to tell whether it is a new story or not only by using the function. You have to record story id in a DB table when it is first posted and check for the story id later. As I said in Twitter DM, I just didn't want to use DB when I started to develope the Twitter plugin.
