Hit Counter Went Crazy Again

Hi,
I'm using 1.4.1 and something spazzed out the hit counter again. Suddenly I went from 4 million to over a billion hits!
I've gone into PHPmyadmin before to edit the number back down before but I can't figure out what file contains the stats figures this time.
Can you tell me please?
UPDATE: I found it. the stats are stored in
gl_vars
The mistake I was making was I was clicking on text in phpMyAdmin, which doesn't bring up the tables. You have to click on the little icon before the text to get to it.
