I can't find it. It was easily changed in the config file but it's been moved.
Can someone till me were to.
This is a normal flaw with host. I'm sure it's somewhere. Some have it log and some have it logs.
We need to make geeklogs glogs or something that we we quit bumping into it.

Hello Mikez

Did you try in the online config? On the first panel Geeklog Configuration Site there is a section call Paths where you can set your path and your log name.

You may also setup the GL system part under /files/glsystem/logs This way you keep a clean subdirectory instead of pooring everything into the webroot or above.

No I did not go past the first page. I thought if it was changeable then GL would not have tested for it first.
Are you sure if I keep going in the install it will let me change the name of the log file?

I have the hole site uploaded already. I was hoping to find were you can change the name in the log file.
In the old config you was able to.
What your asking me to do is to delete everything and start it in an open directory. I can but rather not.

You don`t need to move everything just the system part to a more useful place.

Otherwise try to change things in MySQL gl_conf_values.

ok, now you lost me.
This is not a data base problem. It's a path problem.
And like I said, it's a host. So I can't change my root. I can add to it and change what I put in it. So everything before HTML I can't change unless I put it there.
The only way I know to install other then that is put everything past the HTML.
But that puts everything in the open and I have to put passes on all that.
And that means a complete reinstall.
I am trying not to have to do all that over 1 file that in the past was easily changed in the config file.
Were do we change it now?
Here is what it looks like in the old config.

Text Formatted Code

$_CONF['path_system']     = $_CONF['path'] . 'system/';
$_CONF['path_log']        = $_CONF['path'] . 'logs/';
$_CONF['path_language']   = $_CONF['path'] . 'language/';
$_CONF['backup_path']     = $_CONF['path'] . 'backups/';

As I wrote:

So what are you doing anyway, did the update already work or are you just planing it? In this case you may at first change the paths in GL 1.4.1 before updating.

Unfortunately GL tells people to copy the system into the webroot. This is sometimes not possible. Almost all my webspaces don`t allow this. So I stick to copying the system into a more uncomplicated place:

webroot/public_html/ The public part here
webroot/files/glsystem/ The system here

So you will have
webroot/files/glsystem/logs/
webroot/files/glsystem/backup/
webroot/files/glsystem/data/

Here is the Fix

I am putting this here so if anyone searches for this problem.

When you come to the first page of install and you have the permissions error and not to proceed.
As long as everything else is installed with the wright permissions and in the right place, YOU CAN do the install.

Then when the site is installed and you have logged into the site as Admin.
Go to the Admin Menu then Configuration.

Find "Log" and change the path to were you want it.
Problem fixed.
