curious
I was wondering if there is a way to change the default rss name to say the name of my site instead of geeklog site. When creating a new feed I only have the options of geeklog, links, calender and forum. I can edit the one named geeklog to say my site name within the edit section but it still shows geeklog site in feed readers. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks, Dennis

Looks like you already found the proper place to change the name. Make sure the feed reader you're using has read the feed since then. If it still shows the old title, try unsubscribing, then subscribing again.

bye, Dirk

Hey Dirk I waited until my reader refreshed and it still comes up with geeklog site as the feed name. So I removed it and resubscribed no dice when using the feed viewer it shows geeklog site until I expand it. Am I stuck with the feed readers seeing my site name as geeklog or is there a tweak I cannot find in the forums?

Thanks, Dennis

Whatever you enter for the "Feed Title" should end up as the title of your feed (hence the label). I'm not aware of any problems with that option ...

When you edit your feed again, what does it say there now? Try saving the feed again (without making any changes) - that will do a "forced update" and write the feed file again. And if that doesn't help, check contents of the actual file on your server (download it through ftp or view it directly on the server if you can) and check what it really says in there.

A URL may also help ...

bye, Dirk

Hi Dirk, thanks for the reply as for the feed it still doesn't change no matter what the feed title is it still shows as geeklog site in the readers. This is a copy of my feed which can be found at www.selfautotech.com
I've tried to force the update and no changes when I open a feed reader it shows the site names for my other feeds from different sites but still calls my GL site "geeklog site" as the feed title maybe I'm not familiar with this or something. Thanks, Dennis

<title>SelfAutoTech.com</title>

This is what you entered as your Feed Title. And when I subscribe to your feed with my feed reader, it displays "SelfAutoTech.com" as the title.

So I'd say it's your feed reader that has a problem. It may be caching something, for whatever reason ...

bye, Dirk
