Not necessarily. You may have register_globals = off in php.ini and these plugins require register_globals=on.
Hope that helps,
Robert

That did help thanks Menu installed immediately
However I am still getting the following error with Journal.
Thu 21 Sep 14:49:22 2006 - Succesfully installed the Menu Plugin!
Thu 21 Sep 14:57:37 2006 - Attempting to install the Journal Plugin
Thu 21 Sep 14:57:37 2006 - Attempting to create table journal for Journal plugin
Thu 21 Sep 14:57:37 2006 - 1067: Invalid default value for 'jrn_id'. SQL in question:
as you can see a bit strange ! you can see the succesful installation of Menu though ! not sure about globals being on !!!!

Isn't it a security risk to have register_globals=on?As a reminder: All Geeklog versions prior to 1.4.0 required register_globals to be "on" (hence many plugins still rely on it). In all those years, we had exactly one security issue because of that setting.
bye, Dirk

Yes I had a feeling it was one of those issues !
just as a side if I had a form with post in html do I just change it to .php for the form and post action to use php ?
So I have found some interesting issues with the Journal plugin here
I will post if I get this one working as UPAGE is not really up to what I want.
