As with hotmail, yahoo email, etc. they incorporate a verification process; view a small image file with numbers/letters. These numbers/letters in the image must be entered into a field on the registration page before the page is submitted.
Anything like this in a plug-in for geeklog? I am using an older version and it doesn't have it.
Looking to try and thwart the efforts of spammers creating "sleeper" accounts.

Hi I just installed Geeklog but don't understand why new members are not receiving an email confirmation with a password! Nothing is happening therefore new members cannot log in. What should I do?

These emails are sometimes caught by spam filters - check that. Also make sure that email works at all, e.g. try to email yourself a story from your site.
Sometimes it helps to switch to SMTP. Follow the instructions in the FAQ: Configuring email (Geeklog 1.3.9 and newer versions)
bye, Dirk
