A few questions....

Hi guys, wonder if anyone can help me out.

I'm almost finished a site for a charity here in the UK but I'm having just a few problems.

1) Can anyone tell me where to edit the "{readmore_link}"? I want the "Read More" to appear but NOT the number of words that are in the article.

2) I'm trying to make the "Read More" link red. I've used the .css and this only changes the "xxx words" to red. The link remains black. I've created a new style to be used but it's not picking it up.

I've also changed the colour of the "read more" text in the languages file, it now reads

2 => '[read more...]',

Which should make that text red - it appears bright green, though.

Any help much appreciated!

Ooooooh, additionally, can anyone tell me how to move the topic image in a story block to the left instead of the right?!

Thanks!

There are a few more theme variables that you can use to piece together your own "read more" link (search for "readmore" on that page).

There is no separate CSS for the "read more" link yet, but I've added that to CVS recently. You could make the same modifications in your code, so that it would be compatible with future versions of Geeklog.

config.php:
Text Formatted Code
$_CONF['article_image_align']   = 'right'; // Topic icon on left or right.

Dirk, thanks for all your help. Managed to get rid of the word count which is excellent. Also got the topic image moved to the left which is great.

Still ain't been able to change the colour of the "read more" link text. Can live with it, though. Unless you have any other suggestions for me!?

On, hopefully, last question. Is it possible to include HTML in the intro text for articles on the homepage? I'd ideally like to turn off the topic image and let the users simply insert html tags to an image that they'd wish to use there instead.

Can this be done?!

Thanks a million again!

Stories can be submitted as plain text or HTML. But we're filtering out the IMG tag by default for security reasons.

Also see Why does Geeklog remove certain HTML tags?

bye, Dirk
