help with tar

ok this msy sound stupid but my server wont let me use putty to install any thing. so my question is what should I use to oppen up a tar so i can Blah Blah Blah Blah ... install it the olf ftp way Smile

Unpack it on your PC. Avoid using WinZip, as some people have reported it corrupting files. Use some alternative application like 7-Zip or WinRar.

Go to the Yahoo Widgets gallery. Download the widgets engine (free) and then download the widget named "Zipper". (also free)

It's the best kept secret on the web....though I don't know why.
