confused about home page

Hi all,
right now my home page is set to show the stories posted ( I have only one topic). I would love to set my home page to display only a static page which I marked "center block".
Is there a way to set the homepage to something else? a static page only, another block. What I really need is not to show the stories posted by users in the home page.

A static page can take over the entire front page, if you want. In addition to "centerblock" make sure to select "entire page" from the "position" dropdown menu for that page.
