Help running geeklog

When I tried to open geeklog, I recieved the following error:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $, expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /home/www/hmfms.awardspace.com/geeklog/public_html/lib-common.php on line 5012
I don't really know how to get this going at all. I had errors before, but fixed them myself. Any suggestions?

Okay. Now it works. But I can't log in the site. 
Also, most of the pictures don't work. Hmmmmmmmmm.....
