Story Expiration

I am trying to make stories that are older than "x" amount of days expire, and disappear from public view. I have looked in config.php but was unable to find such settings. The following code only peaked my interests concerning story expiration.
define('STORY_ARCHIVE_ON_EXPIRE', '10');
define('STORY_DELETE_ON_EXPIRE', '11');
A previous topic was created regarding this subject, however it had gone unanswered. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
