Cannot change admin password

After what seemed to be a successful install of Geeklog 1.4.0.sr1, I found that I could not change the admin user password without receiving the following error message:

Error: The new password does not match the confirmation password!

There is no place for me to enter the confirmation password.

I also cannot create any new users.

Please let me know what I have done wrong.
