Any news on Calendar plugin?

Someone mentioned they had turned the calendar into a plugin, but would not release it until Geeklog 1.4 was official and stable. Well, it's out. Is the plugin gonna be coming around sometime? I'd love to see it. Plus, if someone can help it do recurring events (or help me help it), that would just put me in paradise!
