1.4.0rc1 and plugin help.

cheerful
I recently upgraded to Geeklog 1.4.0rc1 and I thinks it's great. But I'm starting to experience different problems here and there.

First off I'm running a slightly modified XSilver theme layout. I took necessary files from the professional theme included with the 1.4.0rc1 layout folder in order to update the theme. However, I'm experiencing a problem with the menu bar. When enabling plugins like static pages and forums and polls, instead of the static pages or poll or forum title being put on the menu bar, I simply get {label} instead. Also, the {labels} are stacked vertically instead of horizontal like they use to be before the upgrade. I'm sure this is just an Xsilver layout problem since I don't have this problem when I switch to the professional. Any help in fixing this would be appreciated.

Furthermore, thank you very much for allowing register_globals to be off for GL, it has saved me some headache. I have also been able to use the media gallery hack to get several plugins to finally install, namely forums 2.5. But I still need to be able to turn on register_globals to get features to work, for example when I click on add new category on forums it just resets the page.

I have read through most of all the register_global threads, and I know I need to create a php.ini file, but I have two questions.
1) What goes in the file is it, php_flag register_globals on, register_globals = on, or some variation?

2)If I'm just doing it for plugins I should have a php.ini file in (using forum plugin as example) {geeklog dir}/plugins/forum, public_html/admin/plugins/forum, and public_html/forum, correct?

Thanks for any help!
