I am trying to create a portal block. The portal block options' RSS URL field only accepts upto 255 characters - any remaing part of the url is cut off.
I have attempted to change this by changing the 255 value to 455 in ADMIN/Block - this action accepts the longer url but after saving it, the url is still cut to 255 characters in length.
Does anybody know where else I need to change this value?
I have tried everything!! PLEASE HELP.

I didn't actually test it this time but I have done it in the past (linkshare feeds can get long with all the affiliate information), change the rdfurl field in the gl_blocks table from a varchar to a blob. Try running something like this on your database:



Of course backup your database first just to be safe.

Maybe I am not understanding.......could you please be more specific (php for dummies - LOL)
By the way I had no problem following your instructions on getting the feed to work in story block (center block) from an older posting. That works great!!
