I have been looking around and as far as I can understand there is no configuration setting and/or combination of rights that do what I want to do...

What I want to do is to limit the possibility to submit stories. Just being logged in is not enough, I want to restrict story submission to users who have the story.submit access right.

I have even tested an removed my test user from the logged in user group...

Is it possible to achieve this whith a change in the database (removing story.submit from some built in groups) or is a change of the GL coore files needed?

story.submit is the ability to submit stories without them having to be moderated, even if you're not a story admin.

What you want is something else and would require a new permission (and a bit of work ...).

Well I guess that is a flaw I can live with. Disapproving a few more stories should not be a problem anyway.
