Hi Everyone,

I currently operate a online community with nearly 3000 members and 7 million hits a month, I am have technical issues with my site...

So much is broken and its frusterating for me. I am at the point I want to rebuild. We run php nuke and there is alot of customization I guess thats why so much is broken.

We are a free or paid site, you can gain a membership for 25.00 a year or have limited access for free.

PAID Members can use Private Messages, The photogallery, classified ads, and avatar changes.

So its a bit complicated. Banner ads also need to be available.

Some of the features I have are:

Polls
Shout
forums (200,000 posts)
Links
Classifieds
Calender of upcoming events
Directory listing of local business's
Chat
Content
New forums
Banner Ads
Scrolling Blocks
Journalling

Not all of these features need to be present but most are important.

My biggest concern is the transer of memberships and forum content all built into the Pbb forum.
I want to do more work myself, and understand it better so I am not reliant on what in someone elses brain.

Can geek log sustain a 2 teired member system? Are all these options available?

I am a mom with 3 kids but passionate about my site and how it helps other parents I have dumped 14,000 into it and I am so disappointed in its flaws Sad

I really dont have the mola to keep puttng out but I want it fixed.

Can anyone help me, or does it sound like I am wasting my time, sorry I don't have all the techy lingo down, but if you wanna check the site out its www.linkingparents.com and offer some feed back or ideas that would be great Very Happy

afaics, all of what you need can be accomplished using geeklog--with varying degrees of effort of course.

a couple of forum options exist for geeklog. It shouldn't be difficult to find/write a script that will convert your pbb to phpbb or even to the native gl forum.

You'll find a lot of people using Geeklog moved here after using one of the *nukes (and some other CMSs), and deciding for various reasons that they needed to switch to something different.

Everything you listed is possible, in fact most of won't require modifications to Geeklog (though some will require adding some plugins).
