The closest thing would be chatterblock. There is no actual free version of GLmessenger which is Blaine's premium plugin. I can say it is worth the $20US though!

yeah if it would work with sql 5 and there is no fix to be released for that problem thats not good Sad for me beacuse i have sql 5 and then i cant installi it on my geeklog

I bought it today as a matter of fact. Its worth the $20 bucks man. Great little plugin and my site members love it already.

The only alternative is to use the phpBBbridge and the phpBB forum which includes PMs.
