Easyfile is a simple file management plugin for Geeklog.

The latest version of easyfile contains heaps and heaps of bugfixes. Run - do not walk - RUN to your local Easyfile outlet and get your fix right now. Seriously though, there are a couple of note worthy improvements:
- New spiffy collapsible tree (using javascript if enabled)
- Integration into the Geeklog search interface
- Documentation
- Selectable search order (date, title, hits)
- SQL optimization vastly reducing the number of sql queries (for most operations, only two queries are now performed)
- Improved file moderation. You no longer need to be easyfile.admin to moderate files, easyfile.edit combined with write access to a folder suffices.

What didn't make it (AKA: look for this in 0.7.5):
- Ability to add screenshots to files
- Ability for admin to replace uploaded files

PS. And there really are heaps and heaps of bugfixes Big Celebration

Hi Kelvin,

The new tree is quite handy and neat!

It might need a few css tweaks (setting image border=0 etc.) for the tree images (see downloads area on my site). Otherwise a blast!

Cheers,

Ajay

Edit 1: clicking on a tree image that is not [+] or [-] returns javascript error (in relevant console)
Error: document.getElementById("ef-node" + folder) has no properties
Source File: http://public_html/easyfile/easyfile.js
Line: 5

Edit 2: Sort by title (either) gives SQL error. I upgraded by simply replacing all the files in www/ , www/admin/plugins/easyfile and geeklog_dir/plugins/easyfile. Any changes to the database?

Your file tree looks fine from here. Do a <shift>reload to force a reload of the updated style-sheet.

As for the other two issues you discovered:
- v0.7.5 should be available in the download area shortly. And to answer your question: no, there were no database changes; I don't do database changes for minor releases.

Edit: this came out rather terse.... it's too early to be fixing bugs at seven in the morning Smile What I meant to say was: thanks for your feedback and let me know if there are any other problems. Its a deal - shaking hands

Thanks for the response. You were right about the css refresh. This interface is really a big move up (according to my users).

Cheers!

Thanks for the rapid updates Kelvin,

Just upgraded to 0.7.6 from here (thx for the new upgrade instructions) - everything looks peachy!

Best,

Ajay

Is the ability to replace files still a planned feature for this plugin? Or has it been and I just am looking in the wrong places? Also I think I found a bug in 0.7.6. It looks like the uploaded files are being placed one level lower than the one specified in the config file, so if I tell it to store files in xxx/yyy they get stored in xxx instead of yyy.

Thanks,

-Rob

I don't know, this plugin works great. It installed flawlessly. I had all sort of errors with the filemgmt plugin, and spent a couple hours making sure I had all the file permission right and still had php warnings and problems.

Anyway, this plugin is SUPERB. It looks great, functions great, and was super simple to get working, no extra effort.
