Customising the Site Statistics Page

I have a couple of questions about the site statistics page:
1) I want to edit the text for the variable {lang_stories_comments} but can't find where it's set - any ideas?
2) I want to completely remove the "Top Ten Commented Stories" and "Top Ten Emailed Stories" sections - how do I do this?

Where can I change the text ...?The sections are hard-coded in stats.php, so you'll have to remove them from there.
