I cannot get RSS news feed to work

i have sincerely looked all over. i found this guy, who seems to have done a good job of it.

and i was certain that i read that geeklog had the ability to do it.
Does RSS 2.0 Feed Writer with the newest Geeklog? would it be better?

What exactly is your problem? Why do you think a feed writer would help you read a feed? Have you read Content syndication yet?

LOL. Well what the hell is wrong with me?
I have been looking for RSS packages for both Geeklog and Dragonfly that actually work, so in RSS NEWS overload, i seemed to have overlooked the word writer!
nonetheless, just looking for an alternative RSS module or block that will work well. after trying three in Dragonfly i found one that worked well.
