Image resize troubles

I am getting this error when uploading a story image.
Image, 1.jpg had trouble being resized: Access is denied
but I can't find the file/folder that need extra rights.
If I give full rights to everyone at drive root it works, but I have gone through hundreds of folders trying to find the file/folder that needs these rights and wonder if any could just tell me.

Yes I have tried the imagmagicfolder
Yes GL passes check.php test script

In config.php, switch on the debug option and see if that provides any insights:
