SQL Error, cannot login.

Hi, I have reacently updated my geeklog qebsite after a real bad comment spam attack. I have updated to 1.3.11 (latest one). I have copied all of the files, and then upgraded by nuiking my database, in essence i pretty much installed it from scratch. I recovered my old database in parts.
I get the following error however, which has something to do with incorrect code:
Sun Jan 23 15:04:58 2005 - error in get_userdata
Sun Jan 23 15:04:58 2005 - 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1. SQL in question: DELETE FROM gl_sessions WHERE uid =
I am currently overwhelmed with work, I tried editing some related files and managed to fix the synstax, however, ended up blocking all logins.
Strange as it is, my administrator account can login no problem, and that was recovered along with the rest of the accounts.
Thanks for your help.

You say you "recoverd your database in parts" - sounds like that is the problem.
You shouldn't really try to copy over some of the data from one database to another unless you know exactly what you're doing. The user data, for example, is held in several tables that must be kept in sync with each other. User IDs must also properly match entries in the groups tables, etc.
The error message indicates that Geeklog had a problem reading the information for a certain user. That may be because the user tables are out of sync (e.g. one table is missing a few entries).
It's probably easier to try and recover from the old database that has all the spam comments instead of playing mix'n'match with a new one and parts of the old one ...
bye, Dirk
