How to put FULL RSS listing in static page with limitation hack running on blocks?

Hey, I've commented away several lines in lib.common.php to limit my RSS feeds to a total of 5 feeds which works great for my portal blocks. But now I want to have an RSS feed in my static page, I managed that with the help of http://www.geeklog.net/forum/viewtopic.php?forum=3&showtopic=36785 but its subject to the same hack I used to limit my portal blocks.
How do I overcome this and have:
#1. portal block RSS feeds limited to 5 feeds per portal block and;
#2. full/complete RSS feeds in my static page
Both at the same time?
