Hi! I am new here and have a question.

I pretty much have everything figured out for customizing the appearance of my geeklog, however I need to use a .jpg instead of a .gif for the header logo. When I look in header.thtml I see the reference to {site logo}.

Where do I need to change the value of {site logo} so it will pick up logo.jpg and not logo.gif.

I am using Geeklog 1.3.11.

Thanks for the help inadvance!

Cheers!

makes things a bit less flexible eh?
find that defined about line 839 in lib-commin.php
Text Formatted Code
    $header->set_var( 'site_logo', $_CONF['layout_url'] . '/images/logo.gif' );

better than editing the core file though is just to do this:
Remove the {site_logo} from your header.thtml file and replace it with {layout_url}/images/yourpic.jpg ...

hope that helps

I think it would be much better to have the filename for that defined in config.php!
I think there is a HUGE lack in geeklog to take out cusomtizings of templates and code and centralize stuff 99% of the users will want to change anyhow.

I disagree. I think that if somebody is going to change the logo, e.g., then they will have to get into the template files anyway to deal with size and layout, etc.
Why have to go into yet one more file?. Just my two cents

true. but then why hard-code the filetype into the core php files?

Just guessing here but it offers more flexibility. THat way you both can have it your way.

I agree. It shouldn't be hard coded in the core. However, it is easily overcome simply be replacing {site_logo} in the template file (if it exists there) with whatever we like--as we saw above.
