I had geeklog for awhile but never used the sign up members feature because I cant figure out the email setup , at one point my site got shut down cuz I did something screwy and my host thought I was spamming, so maybe someone can be nice nuff to explain to me step by step how to set up which email set up would be best to use.

I would recommend hMailServer for your email server. You can find them at www.hmailserver.com

The reason why your ISP thought you were spamming is because you had relaying to and from external emails. hMailServer 3.3 has relaying disabled out of box.
