No password sent to registered users

New registered users won't receive their password after the registration process.

I tried mail, sendmail and smtp and nothing happens.

Any idea about how to fix this thing?

Any error messages? Do the other emailing options (sending a story, emailing a user) work? If so, do you have a dot in your $_CONF['site_name'] (or any unusual characters)?
