Gallery 1.4.5. incompatible with Geeklog 1.3x

Today I talked to one of the Gallery devs and he told me that one off the major changes in Gallery 1.4.5 (currently in CVS) will be Register Globals must be set to OFF. Since Geeklog 1.3x requires the opposite setting the result will be that Geeklog and Gallery won't be able to exist at one server.

So Geeklog users need to stay with 1.4.4. (untill GL2 arrives) wich in fact ain't that bad, since it is a good, well done and quite perfectly wrappable Gallery for Geeklog.

Can't one overcome this by putting php_flag register_globals off in a .htaccess file of all the gallery directories?
