I have the same problem that a number of other posters seem to have with their geeklog site. I don't want even registered users to be able to submit certain kinds of items to the site (putting them in a que for approval is not the an adequate solution). Yes, I want them to be able to read stories, events, links etc, but I don't necessarily want them to be able to submit them.
My question to those of you who really understand how geeklog works is this:
If I were to create group, lets call it "spectators", with no rights to submit certain items, would it be relatively easy, or at least possible, to have the "new users", when they register, placed in the "spectators" group rather than in the "all users" group? If the anwser is yes, please explain how this might be achieved.
Thanks
Bruce
