Just thought I should comment on this issue.

As I go through the Download Themes section, it seems there isn't a "standard" for the file type to be downloaded.

Alot of the files are .TAR.GZ files, which are Linux compatible, others are .ZIP, which is pushing it... (I don't like Zip)... and one specifically is a .RAR file.

Now I use Linux, and unless I go find some sort of archiving utility that supports RAR files, I'm out of luck.

Shouldn't there be a moderation of the downloads, to make sure they're all the same file types? At least, after it's uploaded, someone in the moderation team could convert it to other formats as well.
.zip , . rar , .ace , .tar.gz , tar.bz2 , etc.

Ideas? Opinions are welcome to this issue.

I have no problem making my files tar or tgz I just haven't since I use MacOSX and Windows to develop on, and before someone says well tar is builtin to MacOSX (Darwin fka FreeBSD) yes, but I prefer .sit files if I'm on a mac.

You can try rpmfind.net if you use an rpm-based distro, or Linuxpackages.net for Slackware.

I prefer bzip2 because it compresses the best, even though it is slower.
