Error while saving account settings

Fatal error: com_isemail(): Failed opening required 'Mail/RFC822.php' (include_path='.:/php/includes:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/html/lib-common.php on line 3157
I get this error upon clicking the "Account Settings" link on my fresh geeklog installation. a friend predicts that my server isn't up-to-date with their PHP support. I however think some setting may be the cause (however, his assumption is totally reasonable).
if anyone could offer up some handy advice I'd sure appreciate it

sure wish I knew how to read...
turns out PEAR was the culperate.
much like the post only a few lines below mine I had assumed it was installed, but it apparently is not.
